Veins of the Nameless: Erosion Beneath the Threshold of Sanity
In this haunting abstraction, I explore once again the Lovecraftian influences of my adolescence. The raw surface of a forgotten wall becomes a canvas for something ancient and unsettling. The photograph captures more than texture—it conjures a presence. Rust-red stains claw upward through decaying ochre and mold-bitten yellow, resembling the anguished smear of a hand dragged in final resistance. What was once mineral seepage or oxidized runoff now echoes trauma—an ephemeral gesture etched in time.
This piece draws from the liminal space where natural decay meets psychological unease. The interplay of light and shadow fractures the familiar, transforming stone into skin, corrosion into blood, and silence into a scream buried beneath the surface. The viewer is invited to linger in the discomfort, to question what lies beneath the stain—both physically and metaphorically.
As with much of my abstract work, the image invites a confrontation with the unknown. In the language of horror, it speaks not with spectacle, but with suggestion—with the kind of slow, creeping dread that grows in stillness. It is less about what is seen, and more about what is felt… and feared.
