Splintered Regime

2026 - Lumachrome Acrylic Facemount

I see this image as the moment after certainty fails. What once appeared as order, bold fields of red and disciplined planes of white, has fractured under pressure. The surface no longer holds. It splinters, exposing darker machinations beneath, where cracks spread without regard for borders or intent.

This is how regimes end. Not in spectacle, but in rupture. Power peels away in sheets, revealing the corroded truth underneath. The blackened seams read as fault lines, stress accumulated over time finally asserting itself.

I am drawn to the tension between what was imposed and what endures. Geometry strains to maintain control, but entropy prevails. Ideology becomes texture. What remains is not chaos, but honesty. When a regime collapses, the surface lies fall away, and what was hidden is finally exposed.
