My fascination with the expressive potential of cracked and peeling paint began years ago, during a study of Aaron Siskind’s work. What first appeared as surface decay revealed itself as language—fragmented, raw, and emotionally charged. In this piece, tension emerges through interrupted pathways, where broken lines guide the eye and then refuse it. Subtle color shifts in post-process allow the larger ruptures to breathe while the finer fractures whisper just beneath the surface. It’s a quiet choreography of disintegration and form—where imperfection becomes structure, and ruin becomes rhythm.
